They'll take you along quintessential Moroccan back roads to discover it's breathtaking natural beauty.

Tour guides offer expert navigation through the winding streets of Marrakech. With a labyrinth of alley ways and winding streets, Urals provide tourists with an up close view of the bustling city center.

Insider's also offers luxury camping experiences, set under an incredible desert sky.

Around The World to NYC

Join us at Union Garage in Brooklyn, NY this Saturday, 1/14 at 7PM, for a live multimedia presentation by the intrepid adventurers of “leavinghomefunktion.” Their bikes will be on hand, fresh from the road, and their pilots will be here to tell us about their trip. We’ll have some light fare and cold refreshments. (Shoutout toSixpointfor sponsoring this event!)

In the summer of 2014 a group of art school classmates set out on an improbable journey. With freshly minted motorcycle licenses and scant collective mechanical experience between them, the odds seemed stacked heavily against them as they plotted an overland route from Germany to New York City—heading East to get to The West.

The effort would be monumental—including engineering a pontoon system to drive their bikes down a 1,600km stretch of river in Russia, navigating a maze of visa requirements, and surviving years of exposure to the elements.

Please do register if you’re interested in making it. Space is limited and we’re charging $10/ticket for this one – with all proceeds being donated to the group’s Patreon.com crowdfunding site.

And if you need another reason to attend, we’ll be using registrations as raffle tickets for door prizes. One lucky attendee will go home with our limited edition Ural Burn bag, a $380 value. Plus we’ll be raffling off other assorted swag.

As they’re *just* wrapping up their trip they still have gigabytes of photos and videos to process, but here are a few snippets of what they’ve experienced so far. This first clip is from the famous Road of Bones in Russia, and the second shows the ingenuity that helped them navigate 1,600 kilometers of river by Ural.

Cape Town to Dakar

Adventuring together for years, this Belgian couple decided to take their travels to the next level.

They decided to ship their Ural Gear Up to Cape Town South Africa and ride over 10,000km up the Western Coast to Dakar.  Let the adventure begin!

UDF (Ural Delay Factor) is very real, especially when traveling abroad :)  Prepare for the occasional crowds!

To make their way up the Congo River they hitched a ride with the local fishermen.

Upon arrival they realized there was no crane available to unload their bike.  The boat crew quickly jumped to action and had the bike back on solid ground in record time.

The Gear Up's on-demand 2 wheel drive was perfect for the African roads and mountain trails.

Success!  After nearly 4 months on the road they successfully pulled into Dakar.  Their bike traveled over 10,000km (6,000 miles), most of them off-road through every type of terrain imaginable.

Tell help raise money for the Movember Foundation, Progressive MC and Ural teamed up to create the ultimate mobile barbershop. Led by the team at Nine Yard Designs, the sidecar has been converted to accomodate a barbershop chair and boot shine station that pulls out from the bike.  After your done, slide it back in and hit the road!

Tomorrow, October 22nd, the factory in Irbit is celebrating its 75^th anniversary. A few days ago we received an incredible birthday gift. A very special group of international riders, young artist friends from Germany, Cyprus and Estonia visited us here in Redmond and spent a few days sharing their stories, laughter, hardships, and enormous love for life and their machines.

We get a lot of visitors that swing through our office this was one of the most energetic, impressive long haul travelers we've met yet.

Meet Elle, Anne, Johannes, Kaupo, Efy, Simon, and Nadine aka Leaving Home Fuktion!

2 years on the road around the world, on old 650 Urals, through some of the most grueling terrain, they set out to experience life unabridged. They plunged in with no cushion, relying on their own endurance, wit, and kindness of ordinary folk across countries, cultures and borders. They learnt Russian by reading the original 650 manual “every night before bed”.

A collection of artists, it was evident that they knew how to learn and solve problems on the fly as soon as they rolled up to our loading docks.  Their bikes were nothing short of amazing, we felt like we were on the set of Mad Max.

While crossing the infamous Road of Bones, they weren't sure if they were going to make it, at one point even rationing their food to 1 meal a day per person.

Then something happened that made it "feel like Christmas" according to the group.

They discovered support truck from The Long Way Round, the famous Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman motorcycle documentary.

Completely abandoned, it was still somehow filled with tools and supplies.  Just in time for their beaten bikes, the crew gutted the tool chests, allowing themselves to fix their bikes and keep going.

After they arrived we brought in the bikes to look them over and make some repairs, everyone here grabbed their tools and started working alongside our chief mechanic Sergey.

It was obvious that they had learned the intimacies of their bikes while on the road.

After 2 days of wrenching they were eager to continue on their journey.  First they'll head east towards Montana, then south to Salt Lake City.  The plan is to continue onto Mexico before looping back up and ending in New York in December.
